Second OTL Summit – Join Us!

The Arkansas Opportunity to Learn (OTL) Campaign is hosting the second Opportunity to Learn Summit on November 30 & December 1, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock, AR 72201. The campaign brings together parents, students, educators, policy makers, and others who are working to build a stronger movement for expanding educational opportunities in Arkansas. Registration is free and covers all presentations, workshops, and meals at the summit. Hotel rooms will be available at a special rate at the LaQuinta Inn & Suites (501-374-9000).

In addition, there is an essay contest for students with the theme, “Why an Opportunity to Learn is Important to Me.” Entries will be judged in four categories based on the author’s age: (a) 8-10 years (b) 11-13 years old; (c) 14-17 years old, or (d) 18-21 years old. Each age category will receive a prize of $75. Contest entries must be postmarked or submitted via email by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.

The winning essays will also be published on the Arkansas OTL website, the Arkansas Public Policy Panel newsletter, and the National OTL Campaign newsletter. Winners will be announced at the Arkansas OTL Summit on Dec. 1, 2012.
